Birdhouses from old plane parts.
Created together with Luke Vermeulen.
In the US alone, there are over 13,000 bird strikes per year. More than 40 per day. This feels rather contradicting.
This large structure (the airplane) was essentially based on the bird itself but is now destroying them.
And there’s more; birds find an airport a great way to be, to fly around and make nests. Which makes it even harder for the people trying to prevent the birds from flying into airplanes.
Therefore we decided to give back to birds in the shape of birdhouses made from old plane parts.
Special thanks to Deltion College in Zwolle for the plane parts.
