Singularity // 2018
A re-designed book from Harry Mulisch based on the comparison of Hitler and the singularity within a black hole.
In the center of a black hole is a gravitational singularity, a one-dimensional point which contains a huge mass in an infinitely small space, where density and gravity become infinite and space-time curves infinitely, and where the laws of physics as we know them cease to operate.
Siegfried - een zwarte idylle
When I read the book, I did not really enjoy it but surprisingly there was one chapter that captured my attention. In that chapter Mulisch makes the comparison of Hilter with the singularity.
That chapter is from my perspective the most important one, that is why all the pages have the asteric star. The star directs the reader to that chapter, named Sgr A*.
Sgr A* is a bright and very compact astronomical radio source at the center of the Milky Way. It is likely the location of a supermassive black hole. Hard to image such density just like the way Hitler thought.
During the process of making I noticed that it’s pretty difficult to make something intangible tangible. The process made sure I had to try more than one way.
