LAB RAT RESIDENTIE

This installation is a residence for lab rats. A metaphor to show our appreciation for their indispensable value. The lab rat has saved many lives and we should not take this animal for granted. Lab Rat residentie was exhibited during Maison Florida Screens It, Stadstriënnale Hasselt and as part of the online biennale TheWrong.org.

According to the federal law in the U.S.A ‘these animals are not considered animals’. This is an attempt to change that perception and give these animals a life-sized pedestal. Therefore Jeske & Rosa created a large installation where retired lab rats can relax and play.
